How To Send a Text Message To Any Cell Phone From Your Computer... Worldwide
SMS explosion...
In just a few short years, there has been an exponential explosion in the popularity of SMS (Short Message Service) usage on cell phones and other mobile devices, otherwise known as texting. For many, this is more feesable than a live conversation, at least on a limited basis, simply to notify someone about something that doesn't warrant further conversation, thereby saving precious time for the professional on the go. For others, especially those who are very active in social circles, it gives them the ability to carry on multiple conversations with many different people at once, without each of them being able to hear what the other is saying... This has become so popular that many people, especially those who use a prepaid cell phone service instead of a regular service provider often subscribe to this service exclusively, and forego the purchase of talk time on their plan entirely.
Texting a cell phone from your email...
Every SMS provider runs on its own domain, just like email accounts, making email to SMS transmissions a simple matter of typing in the right code after the "@" symbol in the email address... The first part is always simply the 10 digit mobile phone number..., for example, sending an email to SMS text message from your email account to a Sprint PCS phone number, you would simply type: XXXXXXXXXX@messaging.sprintpcs.com, the X's being the recipient's 10 digit phone number. If the person you want to text uses Verizon Wireless, you type: XXXXXXXXXX@vtext.com...
The following is a complete list of every provider in various countries around the world you can use to send email to SMS... copy your address or click one, then change the X's to the target phone #.

Got email?
Many cell phone companies, in addition to providing links to download ringtones, apps and security features, also have a "freetext" or "freeSMS" service built in to their websites, where you may send text messaging to cell phones for free, regardless of whether you have an email account or not. Sprint PCS and Google SMS are among these programs, and are available to anyone, from any computer.
One consideration before sending an SMS message from your email is the size of the message. Most SMS programs on cell phones have very strict size limitations per message. If your message is too long, it simply gets cut short when you mail it, and the recipient only reads the first part.... You may find yourself needing to break it up and re-send it in multiple sections, if you are even aware that this has happened! This is usually not a factor when sending from a website's free SMS program, as they usually have a word count feature that limits your message, but you may find yourself needing to brush up on your "textish" abbreviations unless you send a lot of texts from your own phone.... Always remember... Don't text and drive!

I could not send any SMS, yet this is very valuable information, Thank you very much!
Thanks for reading, RicardoE... Not sure what happened, exactly, maybe wrong provider name? The links only generate a blank email... you still have to substitute your destination number where the XXX's were. Best of luck!
Really informative hub. Thanks for posting this one.
Voted up!
Thank you! I find myself coming back here quite a bit for these codes too... especially given the way the entire younger generation communicates almost exclusively through texting...lol
